A multi jurisdictional investigation is underway involving Jackson Police Department, Hinds County Sheriff's Office, Mississippi Highway Patrol, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Madison County Sheriff's Office. A third person - identified as Byron McBride, Jr - was apprehended at around 4 p.m., the Clarion-Ledger reports.
Family members carry a grief stricken Ebony Archie after learning her 6-year-old son, Kingston Frazier, had been found dead in her stolen auto.
An Amber Alert was issued Thursday morning after a auto was stolen from a grocery store parking lot with a child inside. The boy's body was later found inside of his mother's abandoned Camry, about 10 miles from the store, Jones said.
He was in a gray Toyota Camry in the parking lot of a Kroger grocery store on Interstate 55 north in Jackson when that vehicle was taken. About nine hours later, following a child-abduction alert and widespread publicity, a man reported the Camry was on the side of a dead-end road in Gluckstadt, north of Jackson.
Authorities broke the news about Frazier's death while they were surrounded by his grieving family members.
"A 6-year-old is gone", said Kingston's cousin, Kolby Irby. "His mother has to deal with it". They could have left that child in that backseat, asleep.
In the aftermath of the news of the tragic and senseless murder of kidnapped MS 6-year-old Kingston Frazier, many have taken to social media to share their shock and condolences. Capital murder charges are pending, authorities said. Jackson police did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Guest said the other two do not yet have lawyers.
Three suspects are in custody.
"He was so excited that was all he was talking about yesterday was his graduation today", Archie told Jackson CBS affiliate WJTV. He also said he is a former member of the football team. The passenger got out and jumped into to Camry and drove away.
An AMBER Alert has been issued for a missing child in Jackson, Mississippi.
