"[It was for] the bang in general just to see if there's anything else that's going on there".
The Lions have been ramping up their training in an effort to reach "breakneck speed" by the time of the First Test, according to Andy Farrell. I've learned from experience that it takes me at least two games and then the third game I'll probably be playing some good rugby but Gats (coach Warren Gatland) knew that.
Having completed the return-to-play protocols, he gets his chance to shine against the Highlanders but he was a face in the stands at Christchurch on Saturday watching Farrell and Sexton excel against the Crusaders. People go after your breakdown when you are trying to kick and they made that solid.
While the Lions could not find the try line they did keep their own line intact, shutting down the famed Crusaders attack, with Farrell pivotal to the transformation.

"The players are really happy with the way the tour is progressing and how we're developing as a team".
"It was a good performance from Owen".
While the Lions' victory over the Crusaders may not have been an exhibition of running rugby, the relentless intensity of the tourists' performance has forced the New Zealand public to sit up and take notice.
I thought there were two areas where there was concern. We've gone hard with the lads in contact, fitness, taking a lot out of the legs and with the travel, etc. that would have had an impact on the first couple of games, but we're ready to get battle-hardened for a Test match.
"It's always nice to win and the manor that we did is great".
Only All Blacks Lima Sopoaga and Waisake Naholo, and injury cover Liam Coltman, have been released to face the Lions.
"Warren [Gatland] will give Stuart all the time he needs to make sure he's right", said Farrell, of Hogg's injury situation.
Ireland captain Rory Best will team up with Harlequins and England duo Joe Marler and Kyle Sinckler in the front row, while Iain Henderson and CJ Stander are also hoping to impress in the second row and back row respectively with the first Test against New Zealand now less than a fortnight away.
