A British couple ended up in the hospital after their attempt to recreate a dance move from the classic film "Dirty Dancing" went downhill quickly. I ended up in a neck brace and had to have a CT scan, Mr. Price said. "We were about 30ft apart and Sharon ran and I grabbed her hips and the next thing we knew we were flat out".
Sharon Price and fiance Andy Price were giddily playing around at a beer garden in Somerset, England, when they got the idea.
But Sharon winded herself and was left struggling for breath, and Andy hit his head so hard, he was knocked out. The couple was discharged from the hospital six hours later.
They had hoped to ideal the routine, originally performed by Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey, for their wedding next year as they celebrated the time of their lives. "I wasn't too aware of what was going on after that".
Sharon said: 'I have always loved Dirty Dancing. While at a beer garden with their family, the couple chose to give the lift an impromptu practice run, The Telegraph reports.
Sharon ran at Andy ready for him to lift her above his head as Patrick Swayze does with Jennifer Grey in the movie.
'We immediately set about trying to recreate that iconic moment. "But it's fair to say it didn't go to plan".
Sharon added that the couple would probably not try the dance move again for their wedding.
Paramedics called to the scene rushed both parties to a nearby hospital, and according to Sharon, the doctors at the hospital had a good laugh when she explained what had happened.
'At first our family thought we were just messing about but they soon realised we had actually really hurt ourselves'.
"We were obviously both anxious about each other and couldn't believe it had happened", Sharon said.
The couple, who coincidently have the same surnames, said they would rethink their first dance for the wedding.
A word of warning if you're planning an elaborate wedding dance in the hope that it'll make a splash online.
