The constant stream of lies coming from Donald Trump's White House and his inner circle has reached a new level of absurdity when even Fox News doesn't know what to say. On Friday morning, Steve Doocy even declared that "the Russian Federation story is starting to fall apart".
As the Post noted, Smith usually doesn't hide his criticism of the Trump administration.
It's rare for a Democratic lawmaker to thank a Fox News host, but that's exactly what Rep. Ted Lieu (D-Calif.) did after Fox News anchor Shepard Smith ripped the Trump administration's handling of the investigations into Russian election meddling.
In a segment with his network colleague Chris Wallace, Smith was offering commentary about the latest revelations in the unfolding scandal.
Fox News hosts Shepard Smith ripped into members of the Donald Trump campaign involved in a meeting past year with a Russian attorney, going on a lengthy rant about their "mind-boggling" deception as reports about their discussion continue to come out. If there's nothing there, and that's what they tell us - they tell us there's nothing to this and nothing came of us, it's a nothing burger, it wasn't even memorable, they didn't write it down, didn't tell you about it because it wasn't anything so I didn't even remember it! Why is it lie after lie after lie? "My grandmother used to say, 'Oh what a tangled web we weave when first we practice to deceive'".
"The deception, Chris, is mind boggling", he told Fox News' Chris Wallace.
While discussing this new information, Wallace commented to Smith, "Who knows if we've gotten to the end of this story?"
"I think this is the biggest problem here", Wallace stated.
In fact, he isn't too keen on all the "contradictory claims and misleading statistics" that have arisen, the Washington Post reported.
An exasperated Smith had clearly had enough of dancing around that word on Friday afternoon.
