With never ending freebies and insane low prices, Jio has truly been a game-changer. The leak also suggests the presence of 2000mAh battery, FM radio, Bluetooth 4.1 + LE, and video calling on the Jio 4G VoLTE feature phone.
Let's get started with the looks.
At present, Mukesh Ambani controlled Reliance Jio is the only operator in India offering voice on 4G network using VoLTE technology, while the incumbent telcos have been offering voice calls to their 4G customers with support of their other established networks- 2G and 3G. It has a candy bar design with a dual language keypad and a dedicated button for activating the phone's torchlight slotted between the buttons to receive and reject calls. In the camera front, the Front Camera is of VGA quality while the Rear Camera has a 2MP shooter which is placed at the back end of the phone.
As indicated by a report by TechPP, the Jio feature smartphone will be sold under the Lyf mark; the company as of now offers cell phones under the Lyf name. The phone will have two SIM card slots with one of them being a nano-SIM card slot and another slot dedicated to MicroSD with an expandable limit up of 128GB. Although Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 205 platform specifically for 4G VoLTE phones, we expect this one to be running a Spreadtrum processor (not completely sure about that).
Clearly, Jio's main intention is to add as many as features in the feature phone. The said website has put up photos of the alleged feature phone that will come with LYF branding. It will run Kai OS - a variant of the Firefox OS which has been heavily optimised for intensive tasks like video streaming over 4G. Ir also comes with some apps from Jio like JioTV and Jio Cinema. It seems to come with popular apps like Facebook and Whatsapp along with a digital personal assistant. The smart voice assistant can answer questions like current weather, solving mathematical equations etc.
Reliance Jio Lyf smartphone offers: Amid rumours that Reliance Jio is set to launch a feature phone that will cost you just Rs 500 to Rs 1500, the company has now made a decision to reduce the prices of already existing Reliance Jio Lyf smartphones.
