Last week, however, the market resumed the rise, posting a 5% weekly gain, so we're likely again to see something of everything: gas prices rising in most areas, falling in a few, and perhaps changing little in a handful of places as well.
According to a press release from AAA, Tennessee gas prices averaged $2.02 on Sunday, almost two cents more than last week and three cents more than previous year.
Including the change in gas prices in IL during the past week, prices are nearly 7 cents lower than one year ago and 5 cents lower than a month ago.
Wichita- $2.11/g, up 7.1 cents per gallon from last week's $2.04/g.
In South Carolina, motorists will find the lowest gasoline prices in Columbia and Myrtle Beach, where the average cost on Monday stood at $1.93 per gallon, according to AAA. The national average decreased five cents per gallon during the last month and was 3.3 cents per gallon higher than a year ago. "Refineries are running on all cylinders, cutting into excess crude stocks".
"As expected, gasoline prices over the last week were mixed".
"The increase on the retail-side may only amount to as much as 5 cents by the end of the week", he added.
The New York State average is $2.41 per gallon, also down a penny from last week.
Oil prices were sagging to close out the month of June, DeHaan added, but by July they started to surge.
Despite those pressures, however, prices continue to fall in the Bradenton-Sarasota-Venice market.
Gas prices in Las Vegas have dropped for another week in Las Vegas. It shows the prices have gone up and down with no significant trend.
