The all-new luxury SUV will be launched on October 28, 2017, in the country. Customer deliveries will begin soon after that, beginning November.
Land Rover, part of the Tata Motors owned Jaguar Land Rover Group, has officially started accepting booking for the Land Rover Discovery in India. The petrol variant will be powered by a 3.0-litre supercharged V6 unit that is capable of pumping out 340 PS of maximum power along with 450 Nm of peak torque. It continues to boast of a seven-seater layout.

Even in terms of appearance, the new Land Rover Discovery has done away with its boxy design for a curvier and smoother profile, in line with the carmaker's new design language.
Powered by a 3-litre TDV6 190 kW diesel and a 3-litre Si6 250 kW petrol engine, the fifth generation of the Discovery family is Land Roverâs most versatile SUV yet, with easily configurable seating options, ingenious in-vehicle technology and best-in-class all-terrain capabilities. On the other hand, the six-cylinder diesel motor on the TD6 trim delivers 254 bhp and peak torque of 600 Nm.
First showcased at the 2014 New York Auto Show, the vehicle will come equipped with a host of features including central touchscreen, InControl Touch Pro services and Intelligent Seat Fold technology. The higher-spec HSE trim will comes with InControl TouchPro infotainment system, heated seats, up to nine USB ports, four 12V charging points, an in-car 3G Wi-Fi hotspot and a 17-speaker Meridian Audio system.
The Audi Q7, for instance, is not available with any petrol variant, while the Volvo XC90 is only available with a plug-in T8 hybrid petrol version - which at Rs 95 lakh is priced quite steeply, you've to say. Available on Android and IOS.
