With its dual camera setup integrating an f/1.6 aperture with glass lens, the upcoming flagship looks to contend with the most popular camera smartphones in the market.
LG Electronics Inc. said Thursday its upcoming flagship smartphone, the LG V30, set to be showcased later this month, will come with high-end camera with a F1.6 lens.
Also included with the LG V30 is a glass Crystal Clear Lens, which LG claims will be better for collecting light than a plastic lens while also offering better color reproduction. The lower the number, the more light the sensor can receive, so the V30's lens will be around 25 percent brighter, LG said.
The LG V30 is scheduled to be announced end of August with a 15th September launch date, coinciding with the Galaxy Note 8's own expected launch.
The company says that the camera setup on the LG V30 is superior to the camera of its predecessor, and that it cuts edge distortion by a third compared to the V20 when capturing wide-angle shots. It holds major features including Optical Image Stabilization, Electronic Image Stabilization, and Laser Auto Focus. "For the users for whom the V series was designed, this kind of innovation is significant".
The normal angle camera will be 1.6 megapixel and the wide-angle 1.3 megapixel, with the module 30 percent smaller than the V20's.
Other stipulated features include Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB storage and a 4,000mAh (or more) battery.
"LG boasts an unrivaled heritage in smartphone photography and our decision to adopt glass in the V30 camera is specifically because this has traditionally been the realm of DSLRs". The company's next premier handset, the LG V30, will be made official on August 31st at IFA in Berlin, but LG's making sure we know its biggest selling point today: the camera.
There's not long left till we see what LG has to offer on the V30, so stay tuned to find out what happens.
