Originally a PlayStation 4 exclusive console release with PS VR support in 2016, the psychedelic rail-shooter can now be purchased for PC.
Rez Infinite has received a surprise release on Steam today, with the game releasing on the platform without any kind of prior announcement. Just remember friends don't let friends trip alone. But as was the case when it launched on PS4 past year, Rez Infinite is also the best way to play the game.
For the launch of PlayStation VR last October, those who bought the head-mounted display (HMD) were able to get their hands on Rez Infinite, Enhance Games' reboot of its classic 2001 title Rez for Dreamcast.
"We are extremely excited to finally bring Rez/Rez Infinite to PC". It was a long time coming but now we have the best version yet, " says Enhance Games founder and Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi.
But if you want to experience its full majesty in VR, you can use a Vive or an Oculus Rift (and yeah, you can download it on Steam and use Oculus). This includes a seven-track soundtrack sampler, a digital art book sampler, and a few wallpapers and avatars. There will also be a limited collector's edition of the PC version at iam8bit.
The PC version will include the original levels, namely Areas 1 to 5, remastered in HD with a new level called Area X added.
