Eric Bellquist, who works at the London-based Hutton Collins Partners private equity firm, "has now been eliminated from the investigation", Metropolitan Police said in a press release Saturday that didn't name the banker. Police said the man was arrested at a property in the Chelsea area, taken to a south London station and later released.
His lawyers released a statement, after their client was cleared, saying the man could prove he was in the USA when the incident occurred on May 5.
Authorities asked the public to help identify the jogger, who was filmed shoving the woman in front of a bus on Putney Bridge.
The video was widely shared online after police published it last week under the hashtag "road-rage jogger".
This statement is issued in relation to our client Mr Eric Bellquist, who was arrested yesterday in relation to an assault that took place between a male jogger and a female pedestrian on 5 May 2017 on Putney Bridge, London.Читайте также: White House aide describes Tillerson's statement on military matters as "nonsensical"
After shoving her onto the road, the jogger is seen running off.
"Our client has been wrongly implicated in this matter", said the statement.
About 15 minutes later, the suspect passed the woman again on the bridge, going the other way, and ignored her when she tried to talk to him, police said.
As reported by the Evening Standard it was the quick reflexes of the London bus driver that saved the life of the woman after she was pushed into traffic by the jogger. He was wearing a grey t-shirt and dark blue shorts.
Police are still on the pursuit for the man who they think is behind the attack.При любом использовании материалов сайта и дочерних проектов, гиперссылка на обязательна.
