The courts earlier rejected four bail pleas by Dileep - twice each in the trial court and the High Court. The film which was getting postponed several times due to actor's arrest finally got released and proved his involvement in abduction and assault of an actress hasn't affected his fan following. The future of his upcoming ventures Professor Dinkan, Kammarasambhavam, CID Moosa 2 and Valayar Paramashivam remain uncertain as the court has ordered Dileep to surrender his passport and to be present whenever the probe team wants him for questioning.
In the case, both the prosecution and defense had completed their arguments on the fifth plea put forward by the actor last week. The high court has imposed many restrictions on the actor, severely warning him against trying to influence witnesses or tampering evidence. The actor's film "Ramaleela" which released amid widespread condemnation, is meanwhile running to packed houses. It was back on February 17 when the actress was kidnapped by a few people while she was travelling from Thrissur to Kochi. At the head of those who received him at the residence were his wife and actor Kavya Madhavan and family members and actor Siddique.
In the same case, the actor was arrested on July 10 on the charges of gang rape and kidnapping. According to reports, the actor had an apathetic response when he was informed by jail superintendent that his bail was granted.
Music composer Gopi Sunder said he was really happy for Dileep. After the release of the very film we have worked together, Dileep used to call me after watching it in theater and wish me.
Six persons, including prime accused "Pulsar" Suni, were arrested in connection with the actress abduction case. Finally, after almost spending three months in jail, the movie star will walk out.
Liberty Basheer, head of Theatre Owners Association, whose bitter relationship with Dileep is no secret, questioned as to why the actor's fans were celebrating.
