Patriots quarterback Tom Brady wasn't at the portion of Tuesday's practice open to the media and there wasn't any word from the team about his whereabouts as they aren't required to release an injury report until Wednesday.
The squeaky clean Brady image took a hit in 2015, as the infamous, some would say petty, deflategate scandal dominated National Football League headlines for over a year.
Aside from when Brady missed almost the entire 2008 season due to an ACL and MCL tear in Week 1 against the Chiefs, he has been remarkably durable.
"We have noticed Tom Brady holds on to the ball a little bit longer than he usually does", said defensive lineman Leonard Williams, who is still searching for his first sack of 2017. Then he got blasted on that same left shoulder several more times before the game ended.
Brady has been sacked 16 times this season.
Brady was hit 19 times and sacked nine times in three playoff games. As a result, he's dealing with a left shoulder sprain he reportedly aggravated in last week's victory over the Bucs. The Patriots have not played well of late. In comparison, the best quarterbacks of Brady's generation, Drew Brees, Brett Favre, Peyton Manning, Aaron Rodgers, Ben Roethlisberger and Kurt Warner, just to name a few, have combined for six Super Bowls since Brady's first start in 2001.
Though he has often shown up on the injury report throughout his career, Brady has been mostly injury-free with the exception of the 2008 season, when he suffered a season-ending knee injury in the opening game against the Kansas City Chiefs. Brady shot down that theory with a smile on his face. Here's a quarterback that has missed a total of 15 games to injury since taking over as the Patriots' starter back in 2001.
