The new Airtel Rs. 144 Recharge plan offers its subscribers unlimited voice calling and a total of 2GB 4G mobile data for 28 days on a recharge of just Rs. 144. The smartphone come bundled with a monthly pack of Rs 169 from Airtel which offers data and calling benefits. Once the limit is exhausted, the company will charge 10 paise per minute for the rest of the period.
On the other hand, Reliance Jio's Rs 149 tariff voucher offers free unlimited data, free voice calls, roaming, SMS as well the Jio app subscription with fair usage policy limit of 150MB.
Further, the company is also offering unlimited voice calls on Airtel to Airtel with a weekly limit of 1,000 minutes and a daily limit of 250 minutes per day.
The Rs. 599 and Rs. 799 plans from Airtel also gives unlimited voice calls (both local and national calls), 100 SMS per day for 28 days. Also, Reliance has its own brand of touch screen Android smartphones called LYF, so it will be interesting to see what Reliance Jio has in store for the future. Users will now get 4GB of data per month instead of existing 2GB for each billing cycle. Currently, Airtel is running a banner ad for the offer in MyAirtel app and users can click on it to avail it.
With the launch of its affordable first recharge plan, Bharti Airtel is aggressively going to compete against its rival telecom operators - Reliance Jio, Vodafone, Idea Cellular, BSNL and others. The Rs. 198 plan from Idea is available at Rs. 178 for new users.
Gurdeep Singh, executive director of Reliance Telecom, has blamed Reliance Jio for bringing creative destruction through free voice and cheap data services.
Airtel Rs. 198 plan: In this plan, Airtel is offering unlimited local and STD calls along with 1GB of mobile internet data for a validity of 28 days. The cash back will be credited to their Airtel Payments Bank account.
