The company will be launching their first smartphone on November 15, one day before OnePlus reveals its own OnePlus 5T. Billion is a private label from the Flipkart stable envisioned by Bansal, erstwhile CEO of the e-commerce firm. Billion launched products in the kitchen appliances category like mixers and grinders, cookware, irons and lifestyle products such as backpacks. The genesis of the brand was that Flipkart's research had shown a high level of dissatisfaction that existed among consumers despite a plethora of products being already present in the market.
According to Flipkart, the device will be made available exclusively on Flipkart (off-course) from 15th November, with additional offers from Flipkart. The dual camera setup consists of one regular RGB sensor and one monochrome sensor.
So, what do you think about the Billion Capture+?
The smartphone will be offered in two variants - 3GB RAM with 32GB storage for INR 10,999 and 4GB RAM with 64GB storage for INR 12,999. Flipkart has used a USB Type-C port in the smartphone. As usual, there's a Portrait mode on the phone.
This smartphone from Flipkart's self-brand gets the power from a 3500mAh battery, which is touted to render up to two days of battery life to the device. The company has specifically mentioned that the handset comes with "no unnecessary bloatware", meaning the interface may be close to stock Android.
The Billion Capture+ smartphone will be capable of delivering plenty of battery backup upon few minutes of charging. The smartphone has a 5.2-inch Full HD+ IPS display. Under the hood, there is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 octa-core SoC paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM.
All these brands make smartphones that would directly compete with Billion Capture+. Flipkart will be offering no-cost EMIs and discounts on debit and credit cards. There also a fingerprint sensor on the back side of the phone. The company is also claiming it will have 130 service centres for its phones in over 125 cities in the country.
