Sudan President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al-Bashir is in Uganda for a two-day visit at the invitation of President Yoweri Museveni.
A statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed that the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Sudan visited his Ugandan counterpart Amb.
These mechanisms, they said, will be done in line with the Intergovernmental Authority on Development's (IGAD) roadmap.
Both leaders also discussed the need to exploit commercial opportunities spurred by the United States' lifting of economic sanctions on Sudan. Uganda will export more tea and coffee to Sudan.
"Inviting an global criminal suspect to Uganda not only undermines the fight against impunity which Uganda has for long championed but also betrays the concerns and interests of the victims of the most heinous crimes", six Ugandan rights watchdogs said in a joint statement.
"Our position is that Africa can solve its own problems".
President Museveni again visited Khartoum from 10-11 October 2016, to witness the closure of the National Dialogue Conference; and also held a discussion with President Bashir on further improvement of bilateral relations.
Particularly, Uganda will increase its coffee and tea exports to the Sudan. According to Uganda government-run sector regulator, Sudan is the second biggest importer of Ugandan coffee after the European Union.

However, there will be calls from the global criminal court, for Uganda a signatory of the Rome statutes that established the court, to arrest President Omar El Bashir who was indicted on multiple counts of genocide during the Darfur war.
Last year, in defiance of an global criminal court arrest warrant, he was here during President Yoweri Museveni's swearing Ceremony on may 16th.
Al-Bashir's presence in Uganda "is an affront to Darfur's victims", said the USA -based Human Rights Watch.
