Warner was sacked Monday after a "thorough investigation", according to District Attorney Faith Johnson. He said Warner refused to give him directions, then accused him of kidnapping her when he missed a turn and verbally and physically abused him.
The Dallas County assistant district attorney was sacked Monday following allegations by a 26 year-old Uber driver who said she berated and hit him while he gave her a ride late Friday night, according to the Dallas Morning News.
Following the publication of the incriminating recording by the Dallas Morning News, the District Attorney's Office said that an internal investigation into the incident had been launched and would provide more information in due time.
When he tried to calm her down, she said, "I'm an assistant district attorney so shut the f*** up". She said this was the only job I can get because I'm so stupid. Warner stayed and waited for the police to show up. It was insane... She can't treat people like that just because I'm not a doctor or a lawyer or someone she hangs around.
"I didn't want to get her in trouble", Platt told the newspaper before reconsidering and ending the ride by asking Warner to get out. "Jesus Christ, you're an [expletive] idiot in a stupid [expletive] hat". Oh my God, you're an idiot.
But she continued to accuse him of kidnapping her since he did not take her to the requested destination, while he repeatedly told her to exit the auto.
"Ma'am I ended the ride and I asked you politely to step out of the vehicle", driver Shaun Platt can be heard telling her in a recording of the incident. "Jody is an honorable prosecutor and the Dallas Co DAs office is lucky to have her". 'What a joke. I'll make sure Uber knows what a [expletive] joke you are'.
A Dallas public prosecutor was sacked from her position after admitting she threatened and insulted an Uber driver during a ride last week.
The police finally arrived and Platt said he was anxious that he would get in trouble. "You're kidnapping me. You're committing a third-to-first degree felony". "Then the cop said, 'You good?' and I said, 'I guess so.' I should've said, 'No, I'm not good.' It was intimidating. I'm a district attorney", Warner said to Platt, the Morning News reported.
"I just want an apology". "As public servants, we represent the people of Dallas County and are examples of justice, professionalism, and ethical behavior both inside and outside of the courtroom".
Warner did, however, say that Platt made "some accusations against me that are not true".
Warner, a six-year veteran prosecutor working in the district attorney's crime against children unit, continued chiding Platt before slapping him on the shoulder. I will not waiver on my expectation of the highest integrity for myself or my staff. But the cop and Warner, who was 'let off the hook, ' left in a police vehicle, he told the Dallas Morning News.
"There's two sides to every event", Schulte tweeted.
The DA's office fired warner Monday and Tuesday morning she talked about what happened.
Platt did not file criminal charges against Warner.
The woman continues to berate Platt until police arrive on the scene. Warner's Klout page says she goes by the nickname "J Mag".
