Both nervous and excited to start her new gig, Eve says she's already received great advice from the cast - especially Underwood - and teases she'll be "a pretty open book" with her own experiences and opinions in upcoming episodes.
The "Satisfaction" MC will join hosts Julie Chen, Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osbourne, and Sheryl Underwood, replacing comedian Aisha Tyler, who announced her departure in June and made her last appearance during the season seven finale this August. She's also appeared in the Barbershop films and the TV show Eve.
As detailed by a video compilation shared on The Talk, Eve brings with her years of experience in the music and entertainment industry.
"I'm always interested in unique and fun parts", Eve told Variety. "I'm just in a place in my life where I was looking for a platform to express myself". "But the last few months I've been feeling that I want to join something".
After a brief guest-hosting stint in October, the daytime talk series has decided to make Grammy-winning artist Eve Jeffers Cooper, known to her fans simply as "Eve", the fifth co-host for Season 8. "And to have such a diverse group of women as well - I think that is very important", she said. And the plan was, before this opportunity came up, was to put out some music, which I still plan to do soon".
"I'm hoping I gain a new audience." she adds.
