The update pushes four new maps into circulation (the first arriving on November 25) as well as a new stage for Salmon Run, loads of new gear and, most importantly, new hairstyles. In Salmonid Smokeyard, a wide gap on the beach divides two upper platforms, with fan lifts being the quickest way to traverse the two platforms. The new battle music will come from punk-rock Bottom Feeders and classically trained Ink Theory. The new maps won't all be available at once, however. Salmonid Smokeyard will be added to the map rotation as soon as the update is live.
Furthermore 140 additional cosmetic objects find their way into Splatoon 2 with the upcoming update, and you can take a look at some of those items, containing mostly new outfits and even some fresh hair styles below.
New Hairstyle: When customizing an Inkling, four new hairstyles will be available to choose from - two each for female and male characters.
The update will also allow players to change gear between battles in Regular, Ranked, and Splatfast Battles, and the level cap is also getting bumped up to 99.
The final major content addition will roll out sometime mid-December.
Four New Battle Stages: While four new battle stages are coming to Splatoon 2, they won't all be available immediately after downloading the update. Read Nintendo's synopsis of the interesting new way to play below. In Clam Blitz, teams compete against one another to collect the most football-shaped clams on a single turf, which they collect and bring back to their opponent's base. After one is picked up, the clam follows the player. There will be a basket where your team has to put the clams in, while fighting the hostile team and simultaneously defend their own basket, and once a side reached 100 points, they win, but remember your opponent can kill you and collect all your clams too. The baskets are protected by a barrier, which much be destroyed first. These super-powered clams are the key to breaking the barrier, so strategy will definitely be involved in which clams are used to destroy the barrier and which are used to earn points.
It's been awhile since Splatoon 2 had a substantial update.
