Well, not only did the woman share the lewd image and sext, but she also reportedly uploaded a 53-second video (which was self-recorded by Barton) that showed the congressman masturbating. The Post said the recording captures the Texas Republican warning her against using the materials in a way that would hurt his political career.
Joe Barton on Wednesday apologized for not using "better judgment" while separated from his wife and in consensual relationships with women.
Barton, a Republican, sent the nude photo showing his penis.
"As the transcript reflects, I offered to take the matter to the Capitol Hill Police to open an investigation". Barton's congressional and campaign offices did not return calls for comment.
Barton continued, saying that he would detail all of their exchanges to the police, including material he said he did not want to be publicly disclosed.
Barton joined the House in 1985 and is now the longest serving Congressman from Texas. He is a former chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee and now serves as vice chairman of the panel. He is twice divorced, first in 2003 and then again in 2015. A spokeswoman for Barton did not respond to a question about when his separation began. The anonymous social media source may have acquired the pictures separately from the woman or women involved. The Post adds that InfoWars briefly published the clip before it disappeared. In the photo, along with Barton, is a woman in a polka dress who is unidentified. Barton was not abusive or coercive in his interactions, the woman said, but said she felt he was "manipulative and dishonest and misleading" in his dealings with her and other women. Barton said he had a sexual encounter with the woman, and allegedly sent a video of himself in a sexual act. "Please do not do that.' It kind of started there", she said.
