She will face Japan's Aya Ohori in the next round.

2016 runner-up PV Sindhu remains the last Indian standing as both Saina Nehwal and HS Prannoy crashed out of the $400,000 Yonex-Sunrise Hong Kong Open Superseries in Kowloon, Hong Kong on Thursday. The ace Indian shuttler triumphed the Japanese 21-14, 21-17 in the second round match which lasted over 39 minutes, reports ANI.

In the one-sided match, Sindhu got into the groove early to the lead in the first game against her less-illustrious opponent.

Sindhu dominated the game from the beginning, ending the game in less than 40 minutes. Ohori issued a late fightback in the second game by winning give points in a row.

Sindhu will either face China Open victor Akane Yamaguchi or Sayaka Sato in the quarterfinals. Just when it looked like he might get his first win in three meetings over the Japanese, Sakai stormed back spectacularly to grab the second game, 21-10. While second seed Sindhu had no trouble in beating Hong Kong's qualifier Leung Yuet Yee 21-18, 21-10, Saina had to fight hard for a 21-19, 23-21 win over Denmark's Mette Poulsen.
