Nokia 2 smartphone from Nokia brand licensee HMD Global is all set to go on sale this Friday with a pocket-friendly price tag of Rs 6,999 in India, as per several media reports. Recently, we reported Reliance Jio and HMD Global's partnership, and the Nokia 2 falls into the second group of devices.
The Nokia 2 will come running on Android 7.1.1 Nougat. This is quite uncommon on unlocked smartphones, particularly ones carrying this price range.
The Nokia 2 ships with Android Nougat with pure and up-to-date Android experience.
Nokia 2 is a budget offering by HMD Global that was launched last month.
The device will be made available in Pewter Black, Pewter White and Copper Black Color variants and will be sold through offline stores. The Nokia 2 users will get 5GB data every month with a recharge of Rs. 309 and above until August 31, 2018.
Talking about the Nokia 2 specifications, the smartphone offers a 5-inch HD display with no mentioning of screen protection on top. The Snapdragon 212 has a quad-core ARM Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and is coupled with the Adreno 304 GPU. However, they need to activate the account with an initial deposit of Rs. 1,000 in the introductory period. Connectivity options on the Nokia 2 include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio with RDS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. There's a dedicated slot for microSD card. It also has 4100mAh battery. HMD claims that the Nokia 2 offers two-day battery life, thanks to the power efficient Snapdragon 212 chipset. On the camera front, the device features an 8-megapixel rear camera along with LED flash, while for the front, there is a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calling. It is a smartphone people can rely on without subconsciously rationing their battery usage.
