The driver, Rajashekar Reddy kept molesting her and held her captive until he was forced to unlock the vehicle when she began screaming and banging the windows.
In a shocking incident, a 23-year-old fashion stylist was touched inappropriately by an Ola driver on Sunday. The driver took her to a deserted spot on the Ring Road in south east Bengaluru and suddenly stopped, the woman said.
The victim was travelling from Indiranagar to BTM Layout.
According to the woman, the vehicle had reached the intermediate Ring Road on the way to Koramangala when the driver stopped the auto by the roadside. The accused committed the act after locking her inside the auto using child lock.
"But I realised that the child lock was on. I still didn't file a written complaint with the police yet", she added.
Interestingly, the woman told the New Indian Express that she had availed the Ola Select service on her mobile app, which helped customers get only the higher rated drivers to ply them.
An official at the Madiawala Police Station said, "The alleged incident happened within Viveknagar Police Station limits". The driver, however, kept on approaching her. No complaint, however, has been filed by the woman.
"We regret the unfortunate experience the customer had during the ride".
Ola said in a statement on Wednesday that it had zero tolerance to such incidents and the driver had been suspended on receiving the complaint.
The spokesperson also urged the customer to lodge a formal complaint with the authorities.
This is not the first time that such an incident has taken place in Bengaluru.
An Ola representative confirmed that after the incident was brought to their attention, and after they spoke to the woman concerned, they temporarily suspended Reddy.
