The listing on AliExpress shows both smartphones with very little bezels and these look similar to the images revealed by Xiaomi global spokesperson, Donovan Sung a few days ago. Both the devices are also expected to be available in Black, Blue, Pink and Gold colour options. The chipset will be Snapdragon 450 - a 14nm process unit with octa-core CPU and Adreno 506 GPU.
As per the pictures, both the phones come with a fingerprint sensor at the back. The Redmi 5 Plus, on the flip side, might come with Snapdragon 625 SoC on board.
Xiaomi, which has become number one brand in smart phone, with a shipping of 9.2 million phone in the third quarter of 2017, on Wednesday launched Redmi 5A in the city. These are 2GB RAM plus 16GB storage, 3GB RAM and 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM plus 64GB internal storage. And both are powered by Android with Xiaomi's MIUI skinning.
On the camera front, the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are getting a 12MP rear-facing shooter and a 5MP front snapper, which again isn't a massive improvement over the 13MP rear snapper with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and 5MP selfie snapper with f/2.2 aperture in the Redmi 4. So far, leaks have suggested that the Redmi 5 will feature a 5.7-inch HD+ display with 720 x 1440 resolution.
Considering Xiaomi Redmi 4 costs just Rs. 6,999, it may come as a disappointment for many to spend twice as much for a smartphone that only offers a tall FullView display.
