Apple has revealed their yearly list of most-downloaded and best games, and it turns out the most-downloaded free game on the iPhone and iPad was Nintendo's Super Mario Run. Photo-editing app Affinity Photo was Apple's top iPad app of the year and puzzler The Witness was the No. 1 iPad game. Editors and curators from Apple Music, App Store and iTunes highlight great content from indie artists and developers from around the globe. Both the games are not freemium titles. The passing year saw a rise in real-time competitive gaming, apps focused on mental health and mindfulness, and apps transforming storytelling and reading.

In India, the top movie of the year have been bagged by last year's Dear Zindagi followed by Sully and Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (Hindi) and Raees. On the other hand, Pritam's "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil", from the movie of the same title that was released last year, topped the tag of album of the year.
And lastly, computer science was a huge area of interest in 2017, with the top three courses on iTunes U focusing on learning to code and developing apps with Swift.
The app store will be pre-installed on Huawei devices and will include a variety of content. Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead were the top TV shows of the year while NPR's Fresh Air was the most downloaded podcast.
Drake's More Life was the No. 1 album of the year, Apple said, while Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" was the most listened-to song. Top movies for the year included names like Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy: Vol. 2, Moana, Sing and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
