According to police, the incident came to light after a PCR call was received at 10.20 am regarding a body being found inside a vehicle in GI Block of Saojini Nagar. The woman is also being questioned about more information about her relationship with Khan, who was a state-level hockey player.
According to Khan's family, two days ago, he left a bag containing Rs. 2L and a cellphone at her house.
Nawab discovered Khan's body, upright on the driver's seat in the unlocked vehicle with a bullet wound on his temple. "No suicide note was found on the spot", Romil Baaniya, deputy commissioner of police (South), said.
Baaniya said the victim's friend is now in Bhopal. Rizwan's father Sharif Khan said, "If they had kept us in the loop, my son would be alive today".
However, on Tuesday, the friend and her family called the Khans and asked them to collect Rizwan's belongings.
"After repeated attempts, the girl's father picked the call and gave their address". I went there with my brother, Nawab.
However, Baaniya contradicts this account, saying the country-made firearm with which Rizwan was shot was in his hand and that there were bloodstains in the vehicle.
Rizwan's father and other family members reached the given address on Tuesday morning at Sarojini Nagar and found Rizwan's body in the vehicle.
"We think he was killed and then the body was kept in the auto afterwards as there were no bloodstains inside", Shareef Khan added further.
The police have seized the weapon and Baaniya added, "We are yet to establish why he shot himself". He also told HT that it was unclear why he left the bag with cash at his friend's house. It has also come to our notice that he regularly visited his female friend's house.
The deceased has been identified as Rizwan Khan, who is believed to be in a relationship with a girl from Rohtak.
On the other hand, the woman's family has yet not responded on the incident.
