Chennai: TVS Motor Company has launched the first super premium motorcycle made in partnership with BMW Motoradd. "We are confident that the customers and Apache-lovers will be bowled over by it, as they find a flawless combination of race craft technology and riding dynamics". The TVS Apache RR 310 contended with any semblance of the Kawasaki Ninja 300, KTM RC 390, Benelli 302R and the Yamaha R3 which will be re-launched soon. We started building our premium brand Apache RTR with 150cc and succeeded in raising the customer aspirations with 180cc and 200cc bikes. TVS Apache RR 310 is another step in our effort to deliver beyond customers' expectations and offering them a chance to upgrade from premium to super-premium category. The fuel infused engine comes mated to a six-speed gearbox and produces 34PS at 9,700rpm and a pinnacle torque of 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. The all new Apache RR 310 will surely create a benchmark in the market. The engine is reverse inclined and gets double overhead camshafts (DOHC) along with a hydraulic cam chain tensioner for lower maintenance.
TVS claims the Apache RR 310 can sprint from 0 - 100km/h in 2.63 seconds with a top speed of 160km/h. This allows for enhanced stiffness in straights, and flex for dynamic cornering capability, which according to TVS leads to best-in-class riding dynamics. This facilitates a compact layout for an ideal power-to-weight ratio and better mass centralization.
One of the features that the RR carried forward from the Akula is the vertical information console-cum-speedo which gives out a whopping 18 racing diagnostics and comprehensive post-ride analysis. Michelin Street Sport tyres measuring 110/70 R17 front and 150/60 R17 rear are offered on the Apache RR 310. The TVS Apache RR310 is the latest offering from the TVS Apache stable.
Available in two shades - red and matte black - the bike packs some serious performance for an entry-level track-focused motorcycles available in the Indian markets.
TVS also gets the RR 310 a Thermal Management System which fits a special gill profile so as to shield the rider's leg from engine heat, and better heat dissipation.
"We are looking to sell 10,000 bikes in the first year".
