The woman told authorities that she began remember images of from that night weeks later, which is why she filed for the protective order.
"We appreciate the comprehensive investigation by the Norman Police Department, and the District Attorney's thorough consideration of the evidence". She said the accuser was very excited Anderson was at her house, and while she sounded tipsy she did not sound drunk.
Text communications between the two showed that Thornton never expressed any hesitation or regret about anything that happened.
She added that there were friendly texts between the two afterwards, with the woman suggesting that they get together in her final messages.
"It was their understanding that they had a good time and [the woman] was hoping to have a romantic relationship with him", Caswell said.
Anderson, 21, denied he forced himself on the woman.
"We can not prove beyond a reasonable doubt she lied about anything.", Mashburn said.
Anderson's attorney said the woman had "attempted to pursue a relationship" with Anderson after the night in question. Anderson was scheduled to appear in court December 18 for a hearing that will determine if the order is extended.
The Cleveland County District Attorney announced that an OU football player will not be facing charges following allegations of sexual assault.
OU coach Lincoln Riley addressed Anderson's situation for the first time Thursday afternoon before the Cleveland County press conference, saying then the running back was still "fully on the team".
