While news around major flagships is making everyone drool over upcoming premium phones, Nokia just stole some attention with its ultra-affordable smartphone due for next year. The phone is suspected to have an IPS LCD display with HD resolution, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, and an expected release in March 2018.
But that's not the only piece of information Murtazin revealed. Also, the blogger asserted that the smartphone will be priced at RUB 5,990 (approximately Rs. 6,670). That said, HMD can't move the Nokia 2 to Android Go program, the company would be using several tweaks from Android Oreo (Go Edition) to improve the performance.
The Android Oreo (Go Edition) operating system is created to work on devices with 512MB or 1GB of RAM by optimizing the operating system along with the pre-installed apps, so that they occupy less space and can run faster on budget-friendly devices.
In January 2018, HMD has reportedly set a launch event in China, where the company is expected to release smartphones such as the Nokia 9, Nokia 8 (2018), and Nokia 6 (2018). The Android Nougat-based Nokia 2 features a 5-inch HD LTPS screen and is powered with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 chip which has a 1.2GHz quad core CPU, combined with 1GB of RAM. He also confirmed that Nokia 2 would directly receive Android 8.1 Oreo-based update, and not Android 8.0. The cameras include an 8MP rear-facing snapper and a 5MP front shooter.
Along with Nokia, Huawei is also planning to launch their Android Go smartphone next year. According to Google, the Go apps take up 50 percent less space and launch 15 percent faster. It is expected to run on Android Oreo (Go Edition) with lighter versions of Google's usual apps, like Maps Go, Files Go and YouTube Go. What's your favourite device coming next year?
