The Brazil playmaker, who missed the Reds' 2-1 win at Burnley on New Year's Day, has been consistently linked with a move to the Nou Camp.
"Leon has not informed us that he has chose to leave", Heidel, who late last month offered Goretzka a lucrative new deal to remain at Schalke, told Germany's Sport1 when asked about the player earlier today.
Goretzka was heavily rumoured to move to Anfield next summer on a free transfer when his contract at Schalke expired.
SportBild in Germany are reporting that the 22-year-old will put pen to paper on a contract at the Allianz Arena in January ahead of a summer move to the Bundesliga champions.
Goretzka is seen across all of Europe as a player with huge potential, with a number of big clubs fighting to sign him.
It seems there is still a chance of securing his signature, too, so Liverpool would be remiss not to at least try to sign him.
Bayern Munich are favourites to land him but Goretzka's agent, Jörg Neubauer, says recent reports that his client has already agreed to sign for the Bundesliga giants are premature and not true.
However, Schalke sporting director Christian Heidel has announced that no decision has yet been made on the player's future. Moreover he said: "We must repeat..."
Leon has not told us he is moving, and I trust Leon and his adviser who I spoke with yesterday. "When the decision is made, Leon and I will first of all inform Schalke".
