The Dallas Mavericks (15-28) host the Los Angeles Lakers (14-27) on Saturday at 2:00 PM ET.
Dallas native Julius Randle had 23 points and 15 rebounds to help the Los Angeles Lakers seal a 107-101 National Basketball Association overtime win over the Mavericks. He contributed with twenty-five points, two assists, eleven rebounds, one block and three threes with 0 turnovers in 35 minutes.
But in overtime, Randle got back to work, scoring four of his game-high 23 points to go with 15 rebounds.
Guard Jordan Clarkson added 19 points, Kyle Kuzma had 18, and Kentavious Caldwell-Pope scored 17.
The game was in the refrigerator, finally, and the Lakers claimed their fourth win in a row, with a winnable game in Memphis on Martin Luther King Jr.
The Mavericks, however, continued to fight back and cut the difference to three points with 42 seconds remaining in overtime. On the Lakers' next possession, Lonzo Ball drove into the lane and missed wildly, but Julius Randle was there to grab the rebound and bank in the shot that put the Lakers ahead by five. The forward proceeded to use the majority of the clock before the ball squirted loose and looked like a turnover before Ball picked up the rock and attempted a desperation game-winner.
Playing a game that tipped off at 11 a.m in Los Angeles, the Lakers took control early, leading by 11 points early in the second quarter. Lakers sideline reporter Mike Trudell of Spectrum SportsNet originally broke the news of Ingram's ankle injury, who said he was moving around "gingerly" after a foul call late in the first quarter and was taken to the Lakers' locker room once the quarter was over. He returned after getting his ankle taped, but the Lakers ruled him out for the rest of the game after he checked out with 3:54 left in the second quarter.
