The woman, 19-year-old Silling A. Man, was found at the mall on December 21.
The cause of her death was not released, but officials noted that her body was in an "advanced state of decomposition", according to the Gwinnett Daily Post.
Man previously had been reported as a missing adult on October 8 by a family member before returning home. Two days later, Man went missing again.
A police report explained the Lawrenceville woman had been dead for about two weeks when she was found.
Sending love to Silling's family and friends.
Man was found in a vacant Subway restaurant space located in the mall December 21, according to a report in Atlanta Journal-Constitution, a daily newspaper in the metropolitan area of Atlanta. But, Man disappeared again on October 10. She had not enrolled for the spring semester.
Family members said they had not had any contact with her since her second disappearance, and investigators uncovered that she visited her previous place of employment at the Perimeter Mall to pick up her last paycheck around November 20.
A report from AJC adds that the death has not been ruled as a homicide but that there are "circumstances surrounding her death are still being investigated", according to a police report. Jake Smith said they are investigating it as a suspicious death.
"It's probably not a great reflection of the current private owners of the mall", Jace Brooks, a local county commissioner, told an Atlanta Journal-Constitution columnist.
As of now, authorities were looking into Man's activities and acquaintances to find out what led to her untimely death.
Police are now looking for more information about the death, including information on Man's activities and acquaintances.
