Whatsapp for Business is not an individual app but it's the same app with all new features and the team expects their user base to become much stronger with this implementation.
WhatsApp Business enables users to have a business presence on WhatsApp, communicate more efficiently with their customers, and help grow their business. A part of its WhatsApp for Business initiative that was first back in September previous year and tested with businesses like BookMyShow and MakeMyTrip in India since, the new app for SMEs is now via Google Play in Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the US.
With this feature, owners can create profiles for their businesses on the platform which can later be used by customers to find useful information such as the business' description, email, store addresses, website, and phone numbers all in one place. These tools include the ability to set up automated greeting and away messages, as well as to define quick replies for common requests.
Businesses will also be able to access messaging statistics, like number of messages read, and they can send and receive messages from the desktop via WhatsApp Web.
WhatsApp for Business is now available in countries like Indonesia, Italy, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
So should businesses jump on the WhatsApp train?Over time, some of these will become "Confirmed Accounts", after WhatsApp verifies the account phone number it registered with matches the business phone number. Essentially, it's the WhatsApp version of a Facebook Page.
As the messaging service explains, users can continue using WhatsApp as usual - there's no need to download anything new to use the latest feature. It's also more popular in some countries than others, which will realistically influence just how successful any particular business will be on the platform.
According to official statement made by WhatsApp, "People will know that they're talking to a business because you will be listed as a Business Account".
WhatsApp has over 1.3 Billion daily users around the world. Would you like to use this app for your own Business? This means that businesses wanting to put the messaging platform to good use will need to develop marketing and engagement strategies that promote such opt-in.
We do not know when that feature will be available yet. WhatsApp users are also incredibly engaged, sending more than 55bn messages each day.
