The teen's father was also arrested under the Arms Act.
The boy, who reportedly celebrated his 18th birthday on January 6, reached the school early on Saturday morning with his father's licensed revolver tucked in his pants and waited outside the school for the gates to open. The student was rusticated from school about a fortnight ago for poor attendance and for picking up fights, an official was quoted by Hindustan Times.
Yamunanagar area Superintendent of Police, Rajesh Kalia, told the reporters: "On Saturday morning, the boy left home after telling his parents that he was going to his coaching class but landed up at the school instead". When told she was busy at a meeting, he forced his way in, took out the revolver and fired at her four times. The principal, Ritu Chabra suffered 3 bullet injuries and was rushed to the nearest hospital, where she succumbed to injuries.
