Nothing happening with Aubameyang - Wenger

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes has backed the decision by Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund to drop star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang amid reports he is chasing a move to Arsenal.

One signing that is expected to get over the line, meanwhile, is that of Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

The Gunners need to strengthen their team before the closure of the winter transfer window and they are heavily linked with Gabon global and Dortmund star Aubameyang.

Zorc has also hit out at Arsene Wenger after the Arsenal manager claimed that Aubameyang would "fit in" with the Gunners' squad.

Dortmund coach Peter Stoeger took the decision to leave out the Gabon global again amid reports he is chasing a move to Premier League side Arsenal, who look set to lose forward Alexis Sanchez to Manchester United.

On Friday, while his club was drawing in Berlin, Aubameyang played a kick-about game indoors with his friends in Dortmund.

If Arsenal indeed pull off the deal in the coming days, then the Gunners faithful can have the mouth-watering prospect of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette playing up front.

Bundesliga: Borussia Dortmund deny contact with Premier League side Arsenal for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

"I've worked on transfer for 30 years so it's likely to happen but at any moment things can break down, that's how the market is", said Wenger.

The Gunners have already made one offer for the Gabon worldwide which was confirmed by Dortmund's CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke this week.

But Dortmund's sporting director, Michael Zorc, insists there is still a future for Aubameyang at the Westfalenstadion. This is part of being a professional, to be able to admit that in one or two situations one has committed mistakes.

Aubameyang spotted the tweet and responded, saying: "Bla bla bla next step is the jail you don't know nothing so take care of you! not me".

Would Aubameyang displace anyone in the Arsenal what might have been XI?

"He went on to say that Arsenal can always try, but they'll have a hard time signing him".
