A group of Arab politicians voiced their displeasure at the administration's perceived pro-Israel bias by raising banners reading "Jerusalem is the capital of Palestine" and heckling Pence at the beginning of his address.
In Gaza meanwhile, the Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said today that Pence's tour in Israel was "unwelcome, ' adding that his speech at the Knesset 'proves the us has a strategic alliance with the Zionist entity".
Pence discussed the Jerusalem issue during talks with Egypt's President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on Saturday and Jordan's on Sunday.
To his part, Palestine Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants said Pence's speech in the Knesset showed his absolute bias towards Israel, and has confirmed Washington's monopoly on the political process.
'We want them [the Palestinians] to know the door is open.
"We believe the bond between us has never been stronger, but under President Trump's leadership, we are committed to making it stronger still", Pence said after the meeting at the president's residence.
"The most uber-Christian national leader the United States has ever known can't get meetings with Holy Land Christians of ANY denomination", he says.
