Mr. Naidu said around 4,000 people would get direct employment and 7,000 indirect employment because of the facility.
With the first test vehicle slated to be produced in the last quarter of the nest fiscal 2018-19, the KIA motors facility would have been completed at a breackneck speed of under two years from initiation of work to actual production.
South Korean automobile giant Kia Motors on Thursday said it would raise its total investment on the manufacturing unit coming up in Anantapur district to $2 billion by 2021 - nearly double its initial budget of $1.1 billion.
The first India manufacturing facility for Kia Motors is coming up over 213.7 hectares of land to produce 3 lakh cars annually, involving an investment of over $2 billion (approximately Rs 12,900 crore). Kia Motors now produces 3 million cars worldwide, and the Indian factory will be its 15 manufacturing facility globally.

The SP Concept SUV, which Kia Motors India recently showcased at the Auto Expo 2018, will be the first model to roll out of the facility. Though it might have sounded amusing for many, the CM made us believe that Cyberavati will not be a dream, but a reality.
Meanwhile, the company is now in discussion with the AP government to start a joint training programme at the state government level to develop the necessary manufacturing skills among local residents.
