Akshay Kumar, Chief Naturalist, Bamboo Forest Safari Lodge, Tadoba, has shot the video when he was taking a guest to the Tourism Zone of Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve."It's the best naturalist moment that one can get", an elated Akshay Kumar told Deccan Herald over the phone on Friday.
The mama bear puts up a strong fight and the tiger retreats in haste, with the bear at his heels. The bear and tiger then face each other and start to fight as one of the bear's cubs looks on.
Kumar's video has gone viral on social media, drawing reactions from thousands of viewers and nature lovers alike.
According to eyewitnesses, the tiger first attacked the bear - a mother with a cub. The video is a proof that shows the love and protection of mothers, which can take on any challenge to save their children. The fight carried on for 15 minutes. The tiger was roaring.
An expert says that the tiger would have had problems getting a proper grip of the sloth bear through her long fur, and roles are soon reversed. "It was a severe fight", Kumar was quoted by NDTV as saying.
Mr Kumar, who shot the video, was leading a safari with tourists when they spotted the face-off between the bear and tiger.
However, when the bears stepped into the tiger's territory, the big cat attacked. Capturing each move during the deadly encounter, the video will keep you on your toes. "They can't outrun tigers", he told NDTV.
