"Fortnite" will soon be getting cross-platform support for the Xbox One allowing cross-play with PC, Mac, iOS, and Android players.
As per the tweet, PC players can play with Xbox One, PS4, Mac and Mobile gamers while Xbox One and PS4 players can do the same except their respective console counterparts, which means that Xbox One and PS4 players can play with people on PC, mac and Mobile but not against or with each other.
Sign-ups for the "Fortnite" Battle Royale Mode is now available for iOS users.
When a fan asked Spencer about cross-platform play on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4, the Xbox boss had this to say: "We really want cross-play system between XB1 and PS4", said a fan on Twitter.
Multi-platform play has been the go to for many game franchises, and has worked out fine. It's still disappointing that the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game do not have that functionality with each other, but something is better than nothing, right?
The content and the novelties of "Fornite" do not seem to have limits since it implemented its successful Battle Royale mode.
Last week, Epic Games announced that the hit base-building battle royale title will be making its way to mobile devices. That is why he has announced that he is working on a new feature for the Xbox One version that will allow cross-play with other versions.
You can see above how keen both parties were to involve Sony, but so far they've refused to support cross-play with any game, not just Fortnite.
Still, Microsoft has stated that they are working closely with Epic Games to enable the feature sometime in the future.
