Austin, Texas police are responding to reports of a package that exploded at a home in east Austin Monday.
The woman injured by the blast was rushed to the hospital where she is being treated for serious injuries.
Update 10:55 a.m. CDT 3/12/2018: Two deadly package explosions in Austin in the past two weeks appear similar and related, authorities said Monday, and police are warning residents against taking suspicious packages inside their homes.

The United States Postal Service told police that they reviewed their records, and they can confirm that the package did not come through the postal service. Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services reported the explosion on its verified Twitter account, saying the blast occurred at around 6:44 a.m. local time in the northeast section of the city. The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has sent staff from its Houston branch to the scene.
According to EMS officials, no one else was injured, and they ask that the public remain clear of the neighborhood north of Martin Luther King Boulevard near Springdale Road.
The latest explosion occurred about five miles from the Austin Convention Center, the site of South by Southwest activities on Monday.
