Josh Rosen Is a Perfect Fit for the New York Giants

There is a scenario where Rosen is the Jets' pick at No. 3 overall, even if they haven't been directly linked to him by any of my National Football League sources. Even with their obvious need and opportunity to pick a quarterback, word is the only way the Giants are assured to draft a QB is if the Browns take Josh Allen out of Wyoming, which would drop USC's Sam Darnold onto the Giants' lap.
As mentioned by a NESN report, NFL Media's Ian Rapoport said it's unlikely that the Giants would participate in a deal to send the Bills that number two pick.
Anticipating becoming a top-five NFL Draft pick would be momentous enough for anyone, but on Tuesday Barkley also became a new dad.
The more likely position that the Bills will target is the fourth overall spot with the Cleveland Browns expected to take a quarterback with the first overall pick.
Basically, Cleveland will have their choice of the best player in the draft or the best quarterback in the draft - but not both.
It could be the Giants' only chance at getting a quarterback for the future at no cost.
Barkley signed with Roc Nation at the home of Jay Z, the founder of the entertainment company, a visit he called "one of the coolest moments of my life". Barkley could do the same for the Giants. But if the Big Blue brain trust isn't convinced, the shrewd move would be to leverage a trade back in the first round and maximize the return on a premium slot.
This puts more pressure on the Giants and Jets to make the best picks for their teams. If I were in Gettleman's shoes, I would select Chubb.
The Rams don't have much draft capital because they traded it away for proven players such as Talib, Cooks and Marcus Peters.
You can argue football is more of a passing game now than when most of the Hall of Fame running backs played. He's like Draymond Green of the NBA's Golden State Warriors.
Mock drafts have Barkley going anywhere from NY or Cleveland, and maybe Indianapolis or Denver, as the draft sits just hours away now. He keeps hinting at the fact that he likes Barkley.
It is no surprise the Giants are looking for a successor to Manning. Shelf life should be one of these criteria, and Giants fans should hope that Gettleman does not completely discount it.
