Ahead of the release of the trailer, 20 Century Fox has released a poster for the movie, that stars Rami Malek stars as Freddie Mercury. There's another look at Rami Malek as Freddie Mercury that has never been seen and again, it's unbelievable how much the young actor resembles the front man. Get backstage sneak peeks and a true view into our world as the fun and games unfold. One would have thought they might have used the song 'Bohemian Rhapsody' itself, however, 'We Will Rock You, ' works perfectly.
The film reportedly begins in 1970, when Queen's frontman Freddy Mercury teamed up with his bandmates Brian May and Roger Taylor and goes until the band's performance at Live Aid in 1985, six years before the singer died of complications from AIDS. Not only does the film do a great job making Malek look like Mercury, but he also seems to embody that effortless coolness that made Mercury so iconic.
The 90-second trailer also gets the enigma around the band correct with some really good background score selection.
Bohemian Rhapsody might be a biographical drama on singer Freddie Mercury, but it's more like a celebration of British rock band Queen's foot-tapping numbers that were such a rage in the '80s.
However, aside from Malek's performance, and as much as I think we all want this movie to be great, this first trailer is certainly a bit worrisome.
"He gives everyone watching permission to embrace their imperfections and sing as loudly as they can", Malek said.
"Bohemian Rhapsody" is set for release on November 2.
