Thomas Markle was set to walk Meghan down the aisle during the church ceremony, and Ragland plans to ride to the chapel with her daughter.
"This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding", Kensington Palace, Harry's office, said in a statement. The statement did not confirm or deny speculation surrounding his attendance. And she said that the motivation wasn't financial, as the Mail on Sunday report implied, it was an effort to show the world how Thomas had been preparing for his daughter's wedding day. He admits the pics look "stupid and hammy".
The reports of a possible no-show by Markle's father were splashed across the front pages of several British newspapers on Tuesday. Samantha took the fall and said it was her idea, "I have to say, I am entirely the culprit".
He added that he regrets doing the photo shoot.
The bride-to-be's parents are divorced and while Harry has been pictured with her mother Doria Ragland, 61, there had been speculation about how Thomas Markle, a former lighting director for TV soaps and sitcoms, would feature. "It was not for money".
"He wants to protect her and this is really hard for him to swallow".
Meghan Markle is estranged from her half-sister, who has not been expected to attend the nuptials, and from her half-brother, Thomas Markle Jr.
The website also said Markle had revealed he had suffered a heart attack six days ago but had checked himself out of the hospital in order to attend the wedding.
THE NIGHT BEFORE: Meghan Markle's choice of hotel the night before her marriage to Prince Harry has a storied past.
Prince Harry will be staying 15 miles away at the Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park in Ascot, with his brother, the Duke of Cambridge. Can I say yes?' and then there were hugs and I had the ring in my finger and I was like, 'Can I. Can I give you the ring?' She goes, 'Oh yes, the ring!'
Both the Daily Express and the Daily Star also lead on the same story, with the Express reporting that the royal wedding had been "thrown into chaos".
"Guests include representatives from the Police, Fire and Ambulance, Mountain Rescue, and RNLI, 100 Cadets from Youth United and cadets and emergency services personnel who responded to the Manchester Arena bombing exactly a year earlier", she wrote.
"I couldn't be more proud of Meghan - she is everything to me".
But there's another thing the future married couple - who are thought to be taking the title of Duke and Duchess of Sussex - may have to do before exchanging vows.
