Lionel Messi has conceded it "would be terrible" if former Barcelona teammate Neymar joined Real Madrid this summer, as the five-time Ballon d'Or victor voiced his opinion on the furious speculation surrounding the Brazilian's future.
The France global, who won the domestic treble with PSG this season, has not yet made his move to the Parc des Princes permanent, having signed on an initial one-year loan deal from Monaco.
The Brazilian has refused to address the speculation and said he is concentrating on recovering from a foot injury in time for next month's World Cup.
"It would be bad, because of all that Ney means to Barcelona", Messi told Argentina's TyC Sports."If he ends up at Real Madrid it would be a major blow to us".
When asked if he was open to a move from Barca after playing for the senior team for 14 long years, Messi said, "I am not tempted to leave Barcelona".
"Ney won important trophies here". It would be a huge blow for everyone.
"But I think I will meet him because we'll be spending a lot of time with him".

The Italian coach, who has also managed Chelsea, Real Madrid, AC Milan, Juventus, Roma and Paris Saint-Germain, has three Champions League titles to his name as a coach. "And on a football level, it would make Madrid much stronger than they already are".
"If he ends up in Madrid it would be a tough blow for us and for all of Barcelona".
"I know that everyone is nervous, but nobody is more anxious than me to go back and nobody is more afraid than me".
"I want to win the Champions League every year, to be a league champion every year".
"At each transfer period, we speak, we speak", the attacker said.
