Guatemala officially opened its new embassy in the heart of Jerusalem Wednesday, becoming the second nation to relocate its diplomatic mission to the holy city following the United States' historic decision despite widespread global opposition.
But as the dignitaries smiled on Monday, their words were being proven false at the border wall to the Gaza Strip, where the worst fighting between Israeli troops and Palestinians in four years was under way.
Tarek Loubani said he was shot at his leg while providing medical facilities to all those who were protesting along the border between Gaza and Israel. Islamic Jihad, another terror group in Gaza, said three of its members were among the dead.
In the headquarters of the Egyptian intelligence Haniyeh made clear that, if the situation continues to deteriorate, Israel will go to the targeted killings of Hamas leaders with the acquiescence of Egypt and other Arab countries, which in this case will be limited to declarative protest.
"The absence of a decision on the Israeli-Palestinian problem has been for decades one of the most serious factors of creating breeding ground for recruiting the youth to the extremists' organizations".
The Arab foreign ministers' meeting in Cairo came after Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sissi on Wednesday said his government was communicating with both sides "so that this bloodshed would stop".

Since March 30, Palestinians have been holding mass rallies near the Gaza Strip border, known as the Great March of Return. The U.N. Security Council met on Tuesday over the violence.
Israel has rejected criticism over Monday's violence, with the United States strongly backing its ally and blaming Hamas for the deaths.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and the European Union have also called for an independent investigation.
