The production version of the Aston Martin Rapide AMR was shown at Geneva past year and is limited to only 210 cars. To lend credence to the talk of motorsport influence and create what should be the most dynamic Rapide yet, the AMR receives new and more aero-efficient bodywork (splitter, sills, rear diffuser), carbon ceramic brakes (400mm front discs, 360mm rear) and Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. The auto will be available worldwide with the exception of China and Russian Federation, and customer deliveries are scheduled to start in the fourth quarter of 2018.
The concept was first shown at the Geneva Motor Show in 2017.
While we're checking out the exterior, you'll also notice the Rapide AMR becomes the first-ever, street legal Aston with 21-inch wheels, the forged, multi-spoke design meant to aid in brake cooling. There's also 630Nm on offer too, and it's all been made possible thanks to better air flow and a new engine calibration. An evolution of the brake cooling system used by the Vanquish S introduces new brake ducts and dust shields to help maintain consistently powerful stopping power.
To handle the increase in power, AMR also tweaked the suspension.
Unlike the Rapide S model, the new Rapide AMR will come with vented carbon fiber hood, front splitter, sills, decklid spoiler and rear diffuser wrapped around a quad exhaust.
The Silhouette scheme eschews the Lime accents and instead adds a full-length contrasting stripe in China Grey or Clubsport White.
The Rapide AMR will be available in three different design schemes. They are split into Standard, Silhouette and Signature; the latter is what you see here, with Stirling Green paint, Lime accents and a Lime stripe for the look most similar to the Aston racers.
Inside, there is a full-length carbonfibre centre control and the seats are made with Alcanatara - both firsts for a Rapide. It can also be had a with a steering wheel from the One-77 hypercar, while it unsurprisingly comes with plenty of AMR badges. Q by Aston Martin, the automaker's bespoke team, is on hand to make any more custom changes.
The full-length centre console comes in carbon fibre, seats are trimmed in Alcantara and each auto will come with a limited-edition AMR inspection plaque.
