Modern Family is produced by the TV division of 20th Century Fox, which owns Fox News.
The biggest rebuke came from "Modern Family" showrunner Steve Levitan, who announced Tuesday that he will be "setting up shop elsewhere".
On Saturday, MacFarlane, the creator of Fox's "Family Guy", "American Dad", and "The Orville", took aim at Fox and said that he is "embarrassed" to work for the company after network host Tucker Carlson told viewers to discount news - specifically regarding the crisis at the U.S. -Mexico border - from other outlets besides Fox.
"I have great respect and admiration for Dana Walden, Gary Newman, Peter Rice and everyone at 20th Century Fox TV studio who have all treated me so well for nearly two decades", Levitan followed up in a statement.
Seth responded on his Twitter account, "In other words, don't think critically, don't consult multiple news sources, and in general, don't use your brain". "Imagine if it was your kids".
Director Judd Apatow, who said he hasn't worked with Fox since 2002, called on those who work at the company to speak out. "We are thankful to all who support quality, independent journalism", the statement reads. Apatow tweeted a thank you to Levitan, asking as many people to speak out as possible to change the way Fox News supports destructive policies.
He also tweeted "Michael Tammero at Fox News is assisting kidnappers (The President and his administration) who are holding children for ransom".
"I'm disgusted to work at a company that has anything whatsoever to do with Fox News", he tweeted on Monday.
MacFarlane's overall deal with 20th Century Fox TV ends in 2019.
Feig tweeted, "I have made two films for 20th Century Fox and love the people in the movie and TV divisions. How can you remain silent when they promote these policies?" That may be going over well with the right-leaning channel's core viewership, but for those entertainment creators who are presently doing business with Fox, it's increasingly become an untenable position - and they're now speaking up against it.
