In a release on Wednesday, the CCSO said that an address had been widely circulated on social media after the death of Onfroy.
The 20-year-old hip hop star - real name Jahseh Dwayne Onfroy - was shot dead while sitting in his vehicle in an ambush on Monday.
It wasn't immediately clear if Williams has retained an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Williams, who also was charged with driving without a license and violating parole for an earlier crime, appeared in Broward County court Thursday afternoon.
"I want to talk to the person, find out why would you kill him", Jones said.
Candles, a teddy bear and a large, signed sympathy card lined the front porch of XXXTentacion's home in Parkland, Florida, which was purchased late previous year for $1.4 million.
She continued: "THEY BURNED THE S**T I LEFT THEY BURNED WHAT I BROUGHT FOR HIM I'M SO MAD LIKE I'M SCREAMING", she added.
The entertainer, who sported dreadlocks and facial tattoos, was a rising star. He also said that XXXTentacion had visited a bank shortly before the shooting and possibly withdrew cash for the purchase.
But the response to Onfroy's death has been notably divided, due to the litany of allegations against him, including the battery of a pregnant ex-girlfriend and a history of other violent actions, as Onfroy recently described in an interview with Miami New Times. His pending charges were false imprisonment, aggravated battery of a pregnant woman and domestic battery by strangulation.
The arrest was confirmed to the Daily News by Broward County Sheriff's Office Captain Robert Schakenberg.
Onfroy's great-grandmother Corine Jones said she learned of her great-grandson's death when she got up to use the bathroom and turned on the television.
