Right on cue, OnePlus has taken the wraps off a new colour variant of the OnePlus 6. The phone will be available in plenty of markets, including the US, India, and Europe, although expect a gradual launch if you can't find it just yet.
The OnePlus 6 Red edition comes packing 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage space, which is the same spec as the equally lush Silk White device, and this hardware partners the phone's powerful Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor.
If you've been saving up for the OnePlus 6 and haven't made the purchase yet, there might be some incentive for you to hold on; especially if you love the color red on smartphones.
OnePlus says that it used a new film coating process to give the OnePlus 6 an "amber-like" depth and clarity.
What's your opinion on this new color?
OnePlus' CEO Pete Lau announced in a forum post that the red edition of the OnePlus 6 will cost $579, which is the same price as the other versions. This is the RGB value for dark red and further contributes to expectations of a Dark Red color variant for the OnePlus 6. As the color red represents courage and inner confidence, this red model also shows power. Stay tuned on PhoneRadar for more details about the OnePlus 6 Red Edition smartphone. We worked to avoid an overly bright red color while still capturing a sense of self-confidence and positivity.
As usual, a new color finish revealed a new set of technical challenges that the company had to tackle.
It's also slated to become available "across the globe" next week, although we obviously don't know how long sales will run. You will be able to order one on Amazon.in as well as the OnePlus India online store.
