Avenatti said the officers present at the performance were in plain clothes.
Stormy Daniels has been arrested in OH while performing a strip show at Sirens Gentleman's Club in Columbus.
The Community Defense Act was passed in OH in 2007 after the conservative religious group Citizens for Community Values lobbied heavily for rules against strip club operations.
Columbus police tell CBS News they're not aware of Daniels being arrested, and as of early Thursday, Daniels wasn't being held by the Franklin County Sheriff's Department. "Are you kidding me?" he wrote. There has to be higher priorities!
"We are highly confident that in the unlikely event that the district attorney proceeds with charges that she will be found not guilty", Avenatti told The Post. Reached by The Washington Post early Thursday, a representative for Sirens strip club refused to comment.
Daniels, whose legal name is Stephanie Clifford, claims to have had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which Trump has denied.
She is trying to free herself from a non-disclosure agreement signed before the election, and suing over a "defamatory" tweet by the U.S. president earlier this year. The payment might have violated campaign finance laws.
Daniels, 39, filed a lawsuit against Trump and his former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, late past year, seeking to invalidate a nondisclosure agreement that she says barred her from speaking about the alleged affair. He initially said he used his own money to pay Daniels and was not reimbursed by Trump.
