According to reports from last year, Amazon's 2017 Prime Day was the company's biggest sales day ever - growing more than 60 percent over the previous year's results and bringing in more new Prime members than in any other single 24-hour period in Amazon's history. The money will automatically be added to your Amazon account by scanning your Whole Foods or Amazon app at the Whole Foods register.
The made-up holiday first debuted in July 2015 (to mark Amazon's 20th anniversary) and has since grown to become the No. 1 day for the company in terms of sales. The company reported past year that thousands of SMBs on Amazon each generated over $50,000 during the 30-hour event - and that more than 20,000 SMBs earned over $1 million on Amazon in 2017. Coresight Research estimates the day generated $2.4 billion in sales past year, and predicts that the number will grow to $3.4 billion in 2018.
Prime Day is Amazon's own version of Black Friday, and one of the biggest sale events in India. However, some of the "discounts" are artificial, so shop discerningly - not impulsively. So not only will you get the deals you're after, but you'll have a full month of free one-day Amazon deliveries plus all the other benefits that Prime members enjoy. Last year, eBay offered steep discounts, using the tagline "Their Prime Deal is Our Everyday Deal". Walmart discounted the Google Home device (not available on Amazon) by 25 percent.
While available at Rs 34,999 for 6GB and 64GB variant in India, the One Plus 6 will be available in the Amazon Prime Day 2018 sale at Rs 9,633 with the exchange, the Indian Express reported.
Shop with SMEs: Prime members will get access to exclusive launches by small businesses such as brass idols by Two Moustaches, accessories by Pipa Bella, kids' toys by Toyshine and musical instruments by SG Musical. A May Yahoo Finance survey of 7,000 Prime members found that about half of the Prime member respondents planned to drop the service.
Amazon has never shared its actual sales figures for Prime Day, but the company did disclose, during an April shareholder meeting, that it now has more than 100 million Prime members.
